That works out to roughly a 7.2:1 overall spread — a deep 4.538 first for launch and a 0.632 tenth for highway cruise. Maximum input torque for the 10L90 is listed at 900 N·m (664 lb-ft). The same table rates the 10L80 at 800 N·m (590 lb-ft), which is the single clearest reason the 90 exists as a separate part number.
The 62TE is a six-speed with a substantially narrower spread and, being an Ultradrive derivative packaged transversely with a final drive in the same aluminum case, a far lower torque ceiling. Sonnax lists these symptoms for the unit: burnt clutches, converter shudder and TCC slip, delayed engagement, harsh shifts, high line pressure, loss of shift solenoid control pressure, low line pressure, low cooler flow, overheated fluid, and TCC slip codes. The parts that address them:

Sonnax technical author Chris Leach documents that in the 62TE the low/reverse switch valve acts as a one-way valve for the low/reverse clutch in Reverse and Drive, and the low clutch switch valve does the same for the low clutch. Wear in the bore lets fluid leak past the one-way valve and exhaust through the manual valve, producing low apply pressure — which burns clutches and causes delayed or no Reverse, or no 1st and 2nd. Sonnax attributes the wear to heavy side-loading, because the valve diameter is too close to its total length.
Sonnax's repair is a checkball-and-sleeve design: drop-in kit 92835-43K, or oversized 92835-47K for bores with extreme wear. Leach also notes that vacuum testing these bores is genuinely difficult — the 62TE has a very long port requiring both front and back to be covered, a rubber mat under the casting helps, and the valve must be manually shuttled into the port being tested.
