Adjustment procedure
Step 1: Identify cable end at trans
- Locate where cable connects to manual lever
- Look for adjustment clip or threaded section
Step 2: Place trans in Neutral position
- Move trans lever directly (not shifter)
- Count clicks from Park: P-R-N (3rd detent)
Step 3: Set shifter to Neutral
- Inside vehicle
- Verify N position selected
Step 4: Tighten adjustment
- Cable should be slack-free in this position
- Lock adjustment clip or nut
Step 5: Verify all positions
- Engine off, move shifter through all positions
- Verify trans lever matches
- Start in P and N only
- Backup lights only in R
